John Edris Myers, 43, of Gallatin, TN, passed away December 13, 2021, after a valiant battle with leukemia. He is survived by his devoted wife, Rebekah, and loving daughters, Elizabeth (Lizzie) and Hannah.
John enjoyed cooking, making memories with his family, and spending as much time as possible outdoors. He was an avid hunter and probably has an 18-point buck or gobbler in his sights right now.
Survivors also include immediate family members: parents, Donnie and Jane Myers, brother and sister-in-law, David and Lindsey Myers, and nieces, Adelyn and Amelia. He is also survived by grandmother, Anna Belle “Ma” Neal, and grandfather, Lynn “Papaw” Myers, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Laura and Joel Luallen, and father-in-law, Ray Cox. Other survivors include special friends Jon and April Humberd along with their daughter, Joslyn, friends Susan and Jute Humberd, friend Bryan Kennedy, and friends David and Linda Braden as well as many additional friends and extended family members. The family would also like to give special thanks to Sarah Crump the stem cell donor who made it possible for us to have six more years with John.
John was preceded in death by his grandfather and namesake, Edris “Poppy” Neal, grandmother, Adelene “Mamaw” Myers, and uncle, Ken Neal.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on February 12, 2022 at 1 PM at Antioch United Methodist Church in Bulls Gap Tennessee, to honor and remember him. In lieu of cards or flowers, the family requests that donations of blood or platelets be made in his memory. Donations to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in memory of John would also be appreciated.
