Brenda Carol Arbaugh, age 72, of Gallatin, TN went to be with her husband in heaven on Monday, June 5th, 2023. Brenda was born in Beckley, West Virginia to parents, Edward and Christine Meadows, on March 10th, 1951. Brenda is preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Christine Meadows, her husband, Roy I. Arbaugh, and her son-in-law, David Morrison. She is survived by her siblings, Cathy (Jeff) Bailey and James (Kathy) Meadows, her daughters, Melissa Morrison, Angela (Billy) Cauthen, Sandra (Chris) Matthews, Robin (Chris) Avaritt, Reneé (Eddy) Polk, and her stepson Robert (Becky) Bratcher. She was known as “Nana” to her grandchildren, Christopher, Brandon, Hunter, Robert Wayne, Cody, Jared, Amanda, Rylee, Jaden, Jaycee, McKenzie, Katie, and Jacob, as well as 7 great grandchildren, with one more due next month. She is also survived and loved by many others who called her Nana.

To Brenda, family was everything. All who knew Brenda knew she was a loving, caring, and generous person. She was a religious woman who grew up Baptist. She met her husband, Roy, as a teenager while she was teaching Sunday school classes. The two would be married on April 1st, 1968, when she was only 17 years old. Brenda would go on to have 5 daughters by the time she was 21. An affectionate mother, she worshipped the ground that her girls walked on. They did everything together. She loved to take trips with her daughters, making their girls trips an annual affair. Brenda loved crocheting and sewing, making afghans and clothing for her children. In her free time, she liked reading and watching television. When she read, she liked her mystery and romance novels. She also liked nonfiction books about the Amish and their culture. When she watched TV, he liked watching shows like Law and Order: SVU, Chicago Fire, Chicago PD, and Fire Country. Although she is gone, she is not forgotten.

A visitation will be held at Alexander Funeral Home and Cremation Center on Friday, June 9th, 2023, from 4pm until 7pm. Then on Saturday, June 10th, 2023, from 11am until 1pm, with our service starting at 1pm. Interment to follow at Sumner Memory Gardens in the mausoleum.
