Carl Richard Rippy

Carl Richard Rippy, 73, of Lebanon, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, August 3, 2025. Born September 17, 1951, in Bethpage, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Coyal Johnson Rippy and Ruth Virginia Saddler Briley.

Known for his remarkable work ethic, Carl was often described by those who loved him as a Jack of all trades. He possessed an exceptional ability to fix and build almost anything, showcasing his talents not only in mechanics—his favorite hobby—but also in various crafts. Whether working on a trailer, a car, or constructing homes, he found joy in tinkering and solving problems. His penchant for hunting and fishing provided him with cherished moments of tranquility amid the hustle of everyday life. Carl had an eye for treasures, relishing visits to flea markets and yard sales, where he would often discover unique finds that delighted him.

He was a man who loved anyone and everyone, embracing those around him with kindness and warmth. His family and friends remember him fondly for his generous spirit and ability to bring smiles to their faces.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant brother Tommy Lee Rippy, brother Bobby Johnson, and sister Mary Maxine Bloodworth.

Carl is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Kathy Rippy; his son, Keith Rippy; his daughter, Emily Rippy; his stepdaughter, Lorie (Ronnie) Day; his stepson, John (Marty) Keith. He is also survived by his siblings Miller Johnson, James Johnson, Danny (Mamie) Rippy, Billy (Brenda) Rippy, Don (Dina) Rippy, and Janie (Mike) Campbell. His legacy will live on through his grandchildren: Abbi Rippy, Austin Mink, Kaleigh Koehn, Cody Day, Brandon Keith, and Jessica Futch.

Visitation services will be held at Alexander Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Gallatin, Tennessee, on Wednesday, August 6, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, and again on Thursday, August 7, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. A funeral service will follow on Thursday at 12:00 PM at the same location. Carl will be laid to rest in Sadler Durham Family Cemetery in Westmoreland, Tennessee..
