Carol Sue Mitchell, née Dingey, passed away on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, in Gallatin, Tennessee, at the age of 82. Born July 15, 1944, in Blue Rock, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Abraham Lincoln Dingey and Edith Miller Dingey.
Carol will be remembered as a devoted homemaker who always made sure her husband and children were cared for. Her life was rooted in love for her family and in the quiet, steady work of creating a home. Raised on a farm, she enjoyed farming and carried that appreciation for the land throughout her life.
She found joy in simple and lasting pleasures. Carol loved playing the piano, gardening, and caring for her cats. She was also a member of Grace Missionary Baptist Church in Hendersonville, where her faith was part of her daily life.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 24 years Kenneth Mitchell.
She is survived by her daughters, Bonnie Mitchell and Jennifer (John) Young; her grandchildren, Addie (Connor) Young, Kylie (Ashton) Casto, and Cody Young; and her sister-in-law, Mary Ruth Hughes. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.
Arrangements entrusted to Alexander Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 584 Nashville Pike, Gallatin. (615) 502-0011 Online condolences can be left at www.AlexanderGallatin.com
