Cookeville

Chuck Keltner, age 78, of Cookeville, Tennessee, entered into rest on Saturday, June 15, 2024.

He was born in Brownsville, Tennessee, on September 15, 1945, to his parents Edward and Evelyn Keltner. Chuck was an intelligent man, who was very mathematically inclined. He graduated from Arizona State University, in Tempe, Arizona, obtaining his bachelor’s degree. He worked as a robotics mechanical engineer, and worked on several projects that were groundbreaking in technology. Chuck was recognized for his achievements when he received the PACE award. Which is awarded by Automotive News, applauding innovative development that is “game changing.” As you could imagine, he could fix anything. There was also a time that Chuck had his own trucking company hauling gravel. Outside of work, he enjoyed to golf, fish, and spend time with his family. He was married to Connie on July 18, 1976, after he completely swept her off her feet. He truly cherished her and would call her his ‘girlfriend.’

After retirement, Chuck and Connie sold their home and traveled together in a RV. They moved to several different parts of the country, but found themselves back in Arizona, until recently.

He was known to be level-headed and a dog magnet (the bigger the dog, the better). He will be remembered for his kindness, thoughtful nature, and how he loved everyone.

Chuck was a one of a kind, and he will be dearly missed by his family and all that knew him.

“Chuck” Charles Edward Keltner is survived by his loving wife of nearly 48 years, Connie (Thompson) Keltner; daughter, Stacy Douglas (Steven); son, Shea Keltner (Chasity); grandchildren, Carlton Douglas (Sheila), Cortney Hudgens, Lylah Keltner, Finley Keltner, Chloe Livingston, Danielle Green, Mirinda Colleen Moore; great grandchildren, Tucker Douglas, Harper Douglas, Raylan Hudgens, Marlee Baniaga; sisters, Joyce Elder, and Kathryn Denton (Hugh).

He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Lawson Keltner; mother, Evelyn (Goodson) Keltner; and brother, Danny Keltner.
