I met Claudette at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. We both were active in the Baptist Student Union (now known as the Baptist Student Center) at UTK. We also were active at Calvary Baptist Church of Knoxville, which had a large college ministry of 300 college students. We went (with 7 other college students) to serve as summer missionaries at Yellowstone National Park in Montana/Wyoming in 1984. She was a joy to serve with and a true Christian. She will be missed by all.

WE ARE ALWAYS SADDENED WHEN OUR FAMILY CIRCLE HERE ON EARTH IS BROKEN; BUT AS CHRISTIANS WE HAVE THE HOPE OF AGAIN, ONE DAY, COMING FULL CIRCLE AROUND GOD’S THRONE.
“WEEPING MAY ENDURE FOR A NIGHT, BUT JOY COMETH IN THE MORNING”. PSALM 30:5

I’m so sorry for your loss Willie. I pray your family draws comfort in knowing she’s with the Heavenly Father walking streets of gold in the mansion he has promised each one of us that has excepted him as their personal savior

Claudette and I were band buddies in Jr. and Sr. High schools. We ate lunch with the same circle of close friends every school day. She always entertained us with hilarious stories of things she did or things that happened to her. Her laughter was infectious! She was a loyal friend, a determined advocate for what she believed in, and had a strong faith in God. Although she had to endure many trials throughout her life, she never wavered in trusting her Savior, Jesus Christ, to see her through it all. My condolences to all the family.
(One fun Claudette fact: She was the one and only person I ever met whose favorite color was red! She was bold and courageous even in her color choice!)
