David A. Allen, 88, of Gallatin, passed away on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, in Gallatin, Tennessee. Born on July 17, 1936, in Nashville, Tennessee, David dedicated over 50 years to a successful career in the automotive industry, culminating in the ownership and operation of Allen's Auto Mart. His unwavering commitment to service and excellence earned him the respect and admiration of both his clients and colleagues.

Beyond his professional endeavors, David was a man of deep faith. He attended both the First Baptist Church of Gallatin and Bellshire United Methodist Church, where he fostered a strong spiritual community. His belief in God guided him throughout his life, influencing the way he interacted with others.

David was also a proud veteran, having served his country admirably in the United States Air Force. This period in his life was a source of pride that shaped his character and instilled in him a sense of duty and commitment to his fellow citizens.

He had a passion for farming, spending countless hours tending to his cows, especially fond of his beloved bull named Big 'un. David also had a deep affection for his dogs, who brought joy and companionship to his life.

He was preceded in death by his father, Leslie Lawrence Allen, Sr.; mother Althea Keaton Allen; daughters Marcy Allen and Donna Allen; brothers Leslie Lawrence Allen, Jr., Robert Eugene Allen, and Ronald Wade Allen.

David leaves behind a loving family who will remember him fondly. He is survived by his son Mark (Julie) Allen; daughters Devita Simpson and Laurie Allen. His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Christian (Lillian Lim) Allen, Shane Simpson, and Cory Allen, as well as his great-grandchild, Hunter Neal-Simpson. Additionally, David shared a meaningful bond with his brother Clifford Allen and his special friend Jo Jo Justice.

A visitation will be held at Alexander Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Gallatin, TN, on Friday, June 6, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM, and again on Saturday, June 7, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Following Saturday's visitation, a funeral service will take place at 1:00 PM, leading to the burial at Old Brush Cemetery in Portland, TN.  Pallbearers will be Mark Allen, Christian Allen, Cory Allen, Shane Simpson, Everton Campbell, and Josh Cantrell.  Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Justice and Kevin Justice.

David A. Allen's life was marked by dedication to his work, love for his family, and a profound faith that served as the foundation of his character. He will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
