Dean Gregory

January 29, 1941 — October 19, 2025

Gallatin

Dean Gregory, age 84, of Gallatin, Tennessee, peacefully departed on October 19, 2025. Born on January 29, 1941, in Sumner County, Tennessee, Dean carried the values of hard work, service, and faith throughout his life. He dedicated more than 40 years of his career as Regional Director for Life of Alabama, where he built lifelong friendships and left a lasting mark on the community. His work also allowed him and his beloved wife, Fay, to explore the world together—traveling to 13 countries and creating memories that they cherished deeply. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Dean was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He had a lifelong love of sports, especially golf, and could often be found on the course whenever he had the chance. Dean poured his time and energy into coaching youth soccer, Little League, and Babe Ruth baseball, shaping the character of countless young players in the community. He also served as a civic leader with the Kiwanis Club where he was president. Dean was a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Hendersonville. Known for his laugh, his steady presence, and his willingness to help others, Dean lived a life of integrity and generosity. His legacy will endure in the lives he touched, the lessons he taught, and the love he gave so freely. Although he will be dearly and deeply missed, his family will treasure their memories together, and they take comfort that he is in peace with the Lord. Dean Gregory is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Fay Gregory; sons, Tony Gregory (Amanda), Ted Gregory (Dawn), Matt Gregory (Sara); grandchildren, Abbie Cowden (Tucker), Claire Goke (Kyle), Nick Gregory, Noah Gregory, Taylor Gregory, Kate Gregory, Colin Gregory; brother, Bill Gregory; and sister, Carolyn Anderson. He was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Gregory, Sr., and his mother, Harriett (Brister) Gregory; siblings, Henry Gregory, Ray Gregory, Eugene Gregory, Jr., Myrtie Leath, Sarah Millrainey, Bobby Gregory and Larry Gregory. Visitation with the Gregory family will be held at Alexander Funeral Home, on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., and will continue Thursday, October 23, from 10:00 A.M. until service time at 11:00 A.M. Interment in Sumner Memorial Gardens will immediately follow. Those serving as pallbearers are Nick Gregory, Noah Gregory, Colin Gregory, Kyle Goke, Tucker Cowden, and Steve Elrod.
