Dora Ann Coley Brandow, age 82 of Gallatin, passed away February 17, 2018. It is with grateful hearts from Dora Ann's family that she was blessed with loving and compassionate caregivers in her home and during her stay at NHC Sumner finally succumbing to Alzheimer's.
Her life as an Eastern Airline flight attendant supervisor was filled with exciting world travels but an unforgettable highlight was bringing armed servicemen home from Vietnam. On one occasion there were joyful tears from the pilot who got to bring his own son home on his flight back to the USA. She found pleasure golfing, playing dominoes, baking and knitting for family and friends. As a volunteer at SRMC, she enjoyed sharing her baked goods for the annual bake sale. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Gallatin.
Mrs. Brandow was preceded in death by her husband, Charles F. Brandow; father, Herschel Coley; mother, Dora C. Marshall Coley and sister, Nancy Marie Chambers. Survived by brother, William H. "Bud" Coley (Mary Lynn); sister, Betty Ruth Coley Neal (Tom); nieces and nephews, William H. "Chad" Coley (Liz), Kelly Coley, David Coley (Lisa), Karen Neal (John), Tracy Jones (Hugh), Lisa Ann Neal, Pam Chambers, Nancy "Sissy" Ferguson (Paul Glenn) and Steven "Bubba" Chambers.
Graveside Service will be conducted 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 20th at Crestview Memory Gardens with Brother Doyle Farris officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 20th from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. at Alexander Funeral Home & Cremation Center. Pallbearers are Chad Coley, David Coley, Steven Chambers, Paul Glenn Ferguson, Marshall McCune, Raleigh Berggren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 4825 Trousdale Dr. Suite 220 Nashville, TN 37220. Online condolences may be submitted at alexandergallatin.com.
