Obituary

Edith Glover, age 90, of Gallatin, entered into eternal peace on June 26, 2026. She was born on January 20, 1936, in Cairo, Tennessee. Edith offered compassionate care as a certified nursing assistant to countless people throughout her career in health care.

Edith was a woman who earned the respect of everyone who knew her. Kind-hearted and generous, she was always willing to give of herself and help those in need. She was dependable, loving, and caring, and her family and friends knew they could always count on her. Edith knew that in life there’s a lot to think about, but nothing to worry about.

She was deeply rooted in her devotion to Jesus Christ and in her legacy taught her family to love the Lord as well. Edith was a member of First Baptist Church of Gallatin and served in the Willing Workers Ministry. In her stewardship, Edith cooked meals for the homebound, ministered to the sick, and supported unity with other churches. Her faith remained unwaivered through all circumstances.

Edith was also known for her honesty. She spoke her mind with sincerity and always told the truth, even when it wasn't easy. She was guided by the mantra, “Courage doesn’t always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I’ll try again tomorrow.” Her strength, compassion, and unwavering love left a lasting impression on everyone whose life she touched. Edith aspired to inspire before she expired. She will be remembered for her warm heart, her genuine spirit, and the love and guidance she shared with those around her.

Edith Pearl (Fitts) Glover will be dearly and deeply missed by her children, Anthony Glover (Cheryl), Angela (Glover) Sweatt, Larry Glover, Trina Glover; God daughter, Sonya Ausley; grandchildren, Kanean Glover, Lakaylan Glover, Te’ah Sweatt, Kaly Glover, Kristie Glover, Tyrique McShand, Galvin Leggett, Gregory Leggett; God granddaughters, Kaitlyn Thomas, Wiasha Alexander; great-grandchildren, Ka’siah Glover, Kalissa Glover, Kayden Gilbert, Jaylan Glover, Zaven Thomas, Zavia Thomas; brother, Earl Fitts; as well as a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rudolph Glover; parents, Waverly and Mattie Fitts; and her brother, Thomas Fitts.

Visitation will be held at Alexander Funeral Home & Cremation Center, on Friday, July 24, 2026, from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M.

Visitation will resume on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at First Baptist Church of Gallatin (located 290 E. Winchester St., Gallatin, TN, 37066) at 11:00 A.M. and continue until service time at 12:00 P.M.

Entombment will follow in the mausoleum of Sumner Memorial Gardens.

The Glover family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Alive Hospice and Edith’s care team, Nelda Shoulders, Lakesa Flippins, and LaShae Johnson; as well as Edith’s social worker, Shannon Williams-Smith. Also a special thank you to First Baptist Church of Gallatin, Floral Creations, and Alexander Funeral Home & Cremation Center.
