Gladys Braswell was my 5th grade teacher. Known to us as “Ms Gladys”, she was a kind, beautiful lady, an excellent teacher and a shining example of a genuine, Godly life. She loved and cared for so many school children over the years of a long and successful teaching career. Whether poor or affluent, smart or struggling, attractive or not so attractive – she loved all her students and did her best as a teacher to point us in the right direction.

She was truly one of the “Greatest Generation”! I loved her dearly and will never forget her. I know she has gone to her eternal reward with Jesus.

On behalf of North Sumner Elementary School and myself I wish to express how much Mrs. Braswell was respected by everyone she was associated with during her years here and in the Fairfield community. She had a long tenure with Sumner Co. Schools and NSE. She touched many people. We will truly miss her!

Gladys was related to my deceased husband William (Rudy) Braswell. He really thought so much of her. I am so sorry and praying for the family. She was a great lady.

Mrs. Gladys was a true lady who believed in God, country, family, her church and friends. She was an excellent teacher but more importantly she was a perfect example and role model to us all. Mrs. Braswell, Mrs. Sanders, Mrs. Woods were a few of those Godly teachers that have made a lasting impression on my life. I plan on spending time with them again one sweet day when we get to our eternal home.

Mrs. Braswell was my resource teacher along with Mrs. Black and Mrs. Greer these fine ladies taught me how to read. Mrs. Braswell was always kind and loving to all her students and it had to be because of her love for Jesus Christ. My prayers to the family!

My mother lives across the hallway from Gladys at NHC. I met her sweet great grandchildren at the Spring Tea at NHC. Gladys was one of the smartest people I've ever had the chance to meet! She will be greatly missed! Our prayers are with you,

I never had her as a teacher but I have loved "Ms Gladys" all my life. She was friends with all my family, especially my mother, Aunt Leola, and Aunt Earlene. They were so cute together:) I will never forget her Godly walk and I will forever miss her at Fairfield. But I know we will see her again in our heavenly home. God bless her family, what a beautiful legacy.
