Gregg Dennis Bond, 75, of Hermitage, Tennessee, died Friday, September 25, 2026, in Nashville. Born March 19, 1951, in Hempstead, New York, he was the son of the late Walter Edwin Bond and Lillian Veit Bond. He lived a life shaped by skill, service, and a deep love for electronics and automobiles.
A graduate of Hume Fogg High School’s Class of 1969, Gregg began developing the talents that would define much of his life while still in high school, when he took a job working in audio and video with News Channel 5 in Nashville. That early experience opened the way to a career built on technical knowledge and steady hands. He later joined the United States Air Force, where he continued working with electronics and served his country proudly. After his military service, he went on to work for Sony and for the Dallas Cowboys in audio visual engineering, bringing his expertise to each role and leaving a mark through the quality of his work.
Beyond his professional life, Gregg was especially known for his passion for cars and the mechanical artistry they inspired in him. He rewired cars, tuned cars, and restored cars with care and precision. His love of that work was also personal and generous, and he even wired his daughter’s NHRA car. He was a licensed Carroll Shelby dealer, a distinction that reflected both his knowledge and his enthusiasm for the automotive world.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law Richard "Dick" Hitch and sister-in-law Wanda Bond.
Gregg will be remembered with love by his family. He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Bond, and his son, Christopher (Lorraine) Bond. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Marlo Bond and Bruce Bond, who carry forward his family’s name and memory. He is further survived by his sister, Judith Hitch, his brother, Jeff Bond, his sister, Eileen Karen Matchak, as well as several nieces and nephews. In their remembrance, Gregg’s life stands as one of dedication, talent, and enduring pride in the work he loved.
