Our cherished Helen Yvonne Adamson Keith, age 79 of Gallatin, TN, transitioned peacefully in her sleep, surrounded by family on Wednesday, November, 4, 2020. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Nella Rogers Adamson; brothers, Charles Adamson, James Hugh Adamson, and Robert Adamson; sister, Katherine Owens; and son-in-law, Steve Langford. She is survived by husband, Jerry Keith; son, Steve Keith (Brenda); daughter, Lisa Langford; granddaughters, Aislinn Whitefield, Stephanie Keith, Courtney Dew, and Kylee Keith; grandsons, Chris Langford and Keith Langford; great-grandchildren, Ryleigh Langford, Toby Dew, Emsley Whitefield, and Claire Dew. She is also survived by sisters, Dot Tuck, Edna Jackson, Lois Braswell, and Carlene Spurlock.

Born January 16, 1941 and raised on a large farm in New Deal, Tennessee, Helen was the sixth of nine children. In 1955, her family moved to Gallatin, Tennessee and this is when she met the love of her life, Jerry Keith, at the age of fourteen. They were married in March of 1959, and remained married for these sixty-one years.

The family treasures the stories of her teenage years working at the popular Oaks Drive-In when it was on South Water. In 1964 she left her job at Shaffer Corp to be home and raise her two children. She would re-enter the workforce in 1972 with her husband as the owners of Jerry Keith's Body Shop & Car Wash, serving the Gallatin community until 2007.

Faith was a central part of Helen's life, raised in the church and accepting Christ at the age of twelve at Mt. Pleasant General Baptist Church in New Deal. She continued worshipping the Lord throughout her life as a member of First Assembly of God in Gallatin for fifty years. Her love for Christ and his children led her to teaching Sunday School there for twenty-five years. In recent years, she and her husband belonged to Love's Way Church in Lebanon, Tennessee.

Although Helen had a great love for traveling, she would never travel by plane or on boat. Instead, she and her husband traveled the country on their motorcycle, with their dear friends Bobby and Patsy Farley. She also shared her love of traveling with her grandchildren, with regular family trips to the Great Smokey Mountains and the beach. This time was precious to Helen and her grandchildren, and nurtured the rich bond between them.

Helen loved her family wholeheartedly and the life she built with her adoring husband, Jerry. Her children, Steve and Lisa, were her pride and joy. She was a devoted and doting mother, present at every game, club, or life event as their biggest cheerleader. This devotion and affection was also passed on to her six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. "Grandmother's" legacy of love and commitment to family will live on in all of us as we promise to carry on family traditions and cherish the time we have with one another.

Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 7th from the chapel of Alexander Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Brother Johan McGregor officiating. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. until time of service. Interment will follow in Crestview Memory Gardens with Chris Langford, Mark Spurlock, David Jackson, Brian Dew, Robert Keith, and Kenneth Keith serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Keith Langford, Robert Spurlock, Shawn Braswell, and Bobby Farley.

Aunt Helen was a sweet, sweet soul with a beautiful, soothing voice. She made sure she spoke to everyone at a big family dinner. She always asked me what was going on in my life each and every time she saw me. She was a true gem, a lady through and through. She will be so missed. Love and peace to Uncle Jerry and the kids. I love you all!
