Jack White Jr., a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at the age of 81.
He is survived by his children: Jack E. White (Kim), Alana Polmanteer (Timothy), and Ronald L. White (Renee). He also leaves behind seven grandchildren: Heather Crowe (Todd Alexander), Billy Crowe (Kristen), Michal Welch (Eli), Tyler Lee White, Jack Christian White, Carson White, and Conner White; and great-grandchildren; Stella Clark, Vera Clark, Ford Clark; and Hades and Artimas Welch.
Jack was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sandra K. White, to whom he was married for 38 years and whom he loved dearly.
In his prime, Jack was an avid fisherman and hunter who cherished the peace of the outdoors and the camaraderie of the sport. He passed on that love to his sons and grandsons, sharing trips, stories, and skills that created lifelong memories.
He was a father who worked hard and loved harder. A dedicated millwright for many years with Local Union 1544/1554, he inspired his sons (and even his grandsons) to follow in his footsteps and garnered great respect from his colleagues and peers.
Known for his friendly demeanor, Jack had a unique ability to connect with people. Whether chatting with the barbershop crew, the ladies at the bank, or the nurses who cared for him, he had a way of making everyone smile. His kind smile and warm tone left a lasting impression on those around him. Jack was also known for his humor; his jokes were a source of joy and laughter. Family members often wish they had recorded his routines, convinced they could have filled a book with his wit.
Jack will be remembered not just for his hard work and dedication but for the warmth he brought to every interaction and the laughter he shared with family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 19, from 1pm til 3pm at Alexander Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Gallatin. A funeral service officiated by Doyle Farris will follow at 3pm. Jack will be laid to rest in Sumner Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Alive Hospice.
