James Dale Jennings, Sr., age 78 of Scottsboro, AL, formerly of Gallatin, TN, passed away November 2, 2018. Mr. Jennings was born March 15, 1940 to the late Dorman and Katie Parnell Jennings. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Wetherington Jennings; brothers, David and Gerry Jennings. He is survived by son, James Dale Jennings, Jr. (Lisa) of Scottsboro, AL; daughter, Kristin Amos (fiancé Charlie) of Glasgow, KY, brothers, Morgan Jennings of Franklin, NC and Robert Jennings of White House, TN; sisters, Gail Back of Palatka, FL and Joyce Baeshore of Port St. Lucie, FL; grandchildren, Paige Gregory, Megan Jennings, Steven Amos and Robin Jennings.

Funeral Service will be Tuesday, November 6th at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Alexander Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Brother Larry Graves officiating. Interment will follow In Sumner Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 6th from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
Mr. Jennings served in the U. S. Army and was a member of Cottontown Baptist Church.

“Big” Dale came into my life in 1964 when I started dating his brother. We were friends and then we were family. That is where we will always be, till our paths cross again. Hugs surrounded with love, as you fly with the angels

Got to remember all the good time we spent growing up together in Ft Lauderdale. You were the only person allowed to come in the house without knocking on the door. I'm gonna miss you Dale.
