Janice Young, age 69, passed away on September 26th, 2023, in Gallatin, Tennessee after a long fight with multiple sclerosis. She was born on September 24th, 1954, in Scottsville, Kentucky, to parents Thomas and Ruby Suttle. She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Woodrow Suttle, and Ruby C. Suttle nee. Johnson. Janice is survived by her husband Terry Young, daughter Candace (Preston) Olsen, son Cody (Hannah) Young, and son Jameson Young. She is also survived by her 6 grandchildren whom she loved and adored: Ashton, Emma, Carter, Arabella, Parker, and Noah.
Janice was a loving and caring individual. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She was a lifelong member of the Church of God of Prophecy. A good Christian woman, who was hardworking and strong willed. Janice was said to have been the artistic type. She liked to spend her free time painting and calligraphy. She was a seamstress a heart, crocheting and sewing, she was known for making her own clothing.
She married the love of her life, Terry, in March of 1974. The two would be married for 49 years before her passing. The two would be married through sickness and health. Janice was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1997, a struggle that she would live with for many years. Throughout her struggles, she always persevered with a brave face. Her family stated that she always maintained a positive outlook and had the ability to laugh at herself. Janice’s perseverance and dedication were evident throughout her life.
A visitation will be held at Alexander Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 584 Nashville Pike, Gallatin, TN 37066, on Saturday, September 30th, 2023, from 10am until 1pm. A funeral service will be held promptly at 1pm, with our burial to follow at Sumner Memory Gardens at 2pm.
Janice Young may no longer be physically present with us, but her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. May her soul find eternal peace, and her memory forever bring warmth, comfort, and inspiration to us all.
