Jeanne Marie Franklin, 95, of Gallatin, Tennessee (formerly of Warsaw, Indiana), passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, August 19, 2026. Born on August 6, 1931, in Chicago, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Edwin & Gertrude Wilson.
Jeanne cherished her role as a loving mother to Linda Fetherolf, Steven (Debbie) Franklin, Scott (Katrina) Franklin, and Laura McCarty. Her family was the center of her world, and she held a special place in her heart for her 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. Jeanne also leaves behind her beloved sisters, Judith Gibson and Barbara Hobbs.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Donald Franklin and her brother Ed Wilson.
Throughout her life, Jeanne’s warmth, generosity, and commitment to others were evident in every aspect of her journey. She found true joy in entertaining and hosting friends and family, creating cherished memories and strengthening the bonds that meant so much to her. Among her fondest traditions were visits to “The Cottage” in South Haven, Michigan—built by her grandfather and lovingly maintained by the family. The cottage stands as a testament to Jeanne’s appreciation for legacy and her devotion to family togetherness.
Jeanne was a woman who valued service and believed deeply in giving back to those around her. During her years in Warsaw, Indiana, she dedicated countless hours volunteering with Cardinal Services to support people with disabilities and their families. She also contributed her time and care at the Presbyterian Church preschool, extending her nurturing spirit beyond her own household. After settling in Sumner County, Tennessee, Jeanne continued her commitment to service as a volunteer in the gift shop at Sumner Memorial Hospital and with Emeritus.
Faith guided Jeanne in all things. A lady of strong Christian conviction, she found spiritual fulfillment as a devoted member of Gallatin First United Methodist Church. Jeanne especially cherished her time singing in the church choir, lifting her voice in praise and fellowship.
Jeanne’s legacy endures in the love she so freely gave her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and in the memories shared by all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her kindness, generosity, and steadfast faith touched lives and left an indelible imprint on her family and community.
Jeanne will be remembered with deep love and respect by all those whose lives she enriched. A celebration of her life is being planned. Date/time/location will be updated to this obituary once they've been determined.
