Jeffrey Todd Chandler, Sr., a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on Saturday, May 3, 2025, in Nashville, Tennessee. Born January 4, 1962, in Centerville, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Judith Bates Carroll and William Josiah Colson, Jr.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Echo Star Hehnen, his mother-in-law, Bobbie Jean Warnack Pardue, and his grandparents, Cordelia Claggett Bates Carroll, John Frank Carroll, Jr., Wilma Jo Austin Chandler, and James Walter "Boots" Chandler, Jr.
His creativity and artistic talents flourished as he was a skilled musician and author from a young age. His art and love for the great outdoors enriched many lives, especially his children's. He was a father figure to many, a Girl Scouts of America advocate, and his tenure as the Cubmaster of Pack 124 was a treasured memory of times spent with his children. Jeff's playful spirit extended to gaming, where he formed lasting bonds and created joyful memories with friends and family. Jeff was an active member of the Society for Creative Anachronism for 40 years, during which time he immersed himself in historical reenactments and medieval culture.
Mr. Chandler retired from Education Networks of America (ENA) as an Information Technology (IT) Trainer, demonstrating his commitment to education and technology throughout his career. He was instrumental in launching ESports for high schools across the country. Jeff was talented in his profession and showcased his diverse interests outside of work. In his younger years, he was an avid athlete, excelling in baseball, football, track, boxing, and rugby. In 1987, he was honored to be invited to play rugby for the USA in the inaugural Rugby World Cup in Australia. His love for sports continued into his later years, where he passionately supported the SCA, the University of Alabama, and was an avid fan of the NFL's Tennessee Titans and Dallas Cowboys.
He is survived by his constant companion and devoted wife of 36 years, Deborah "Debbie" Jean Pardue Chandler; children and their partners, Jill Nicole Hehnen Kemper (Jeffrey Kemper), Jeffrey Todd Chandler, Jr., and Dustin Chandler (Caroline Scarbrough); grandchildren, Joshua Kemper (Destiny Woodhouse), and Alexander Kemper; great-grandchildren, Calvin and Jasper; father-in-law, Noah E. Pardue; and brothers-in-law, Gary E Pardue (Barbara Brosche), and Jerry E. Pardue, Sr. (Sonja Flowers). Jeffrey's legacy will live on through the love and memories shared by those he leaves behind.
Visitation will be on Monday, May 12, from 4-7 p.m., and on Tuesday, May 13, from 10 AM until the time of service, which will begin at 11 a.m. Burial will be at the Rohrer Cemetery on Bull Run Road in Ashland City, Tennessee, at 1:00 p.m.
Jeffrey Todd Chandler, Sr., will be profoundly missed, but his impact on the lives he touched will forever remain in the hearts of many.
Flowers or donations to Jeff’s favorite charity, The Marine Toys for Tots Foundation or the SCA's Signorotti Membership Assistance Fund are welcome and appreciated. However, your presence is all that is needed to honor and celebrate his life.
