Obituary

Julie Suzanne Brackenbury, 58, passed away on Saturday, February 14, 2026, in Gallatin, Tennessee. Born February 11, 1968, in Nashville, she was the daughter of John Wayne Harrison and Judy Paul Phillips Roberts. She approached life with a passion and purpose that permeated her many endeavors, leaving an indelible impact on all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Julie was a talented graphic artist and made significant contributions as a former editor of The Gallatin News and Portland Progressive newspapers. Her creative spirit shone brightly during her tenure as a graphic artist for the Tennessee Titans Gameday magazine and Wilson Living Magazine. She was deeply committed to her community, serving as an At-large Councilwoman for the City of Gallatin and participating actively in various organizations. Julie formerly held positions on the Board of Directors for Historic Downtown Gallatin/Greater Gallatin, Inc. and the Historic Rosemont Mansion. Her commitment to community service was evident during her tenure as Co-Chair for Relay for Life for Sumner County, and as Publicity Chair for the Homeward Bound Sumner County Jail Rehabilitation Program.

Beyond her professional achievements, those who knew Julie cherished her vibrant personality. Her laughter could fill a room, and she possessed a remarkable ability to bring light into the lives of others. Always happy and perpetually positive, Julie was known for her selfless nature, frequently going above and beyond to support those around her. An excellent cook, her meals were often a source of comfort and joy for her family and friends.

Julie was a proud graduate of Hendersonville High School, class of 1986, and her legacy is carried on by her loving family. She is survived by her husband of over 37 years, Gregg Brackenbury; her son, Ethan Wayne (Megan) Brackenbury; her father, John Wayne Harrison; her mother, Judy Paul Roberts; and her stepfather, Harlan Woodrow "Woody" Roberts.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 28, from 9AM to 11AM, followed by a memorial service officiated by Pastor Terrell Somerville at 11AM at Alexander Funeral Home & Cremation Center, located at 584 Nashville Pike, Gallatin, Tennessee, 37066.

Julie will be remembered for her creative spirit, unwavering dedication to her community, and the warmth she brought into the lives of those she loved. Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know her.
