Margaret Postiglione, age 75, of Gallatin, passed away peacefully on September 14, 2026, surrounded by the family she loved so deeply, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Margaret was born on January 4, 1951, in Queens, New York, to the late John and Helen Erdman. She was also preceded in death by her beloved brother, Thomas Erdman, and sister-in-law, Susan Nichols.

Margaret shared 47 wonderful years of marriage with her loving husband, Patrick Postiglione. Together, they built a life centered around family and raised three children: Lori Singleton, Kelly Postiglione Cook (Clayton), and Patrick John Postiglione (Loren).

She is also survived by her siblings, Catherine Erdman (Michael), William Erdman (Denise), John Erdman (Janet), James Nichols (Gail), Raymond Nichols (Susan), along with many extended family members and friends who loved her dearly.

While Margaret was a devoted wife and mother, perhaps her most treasured role was being “Nana.” Her grandchildren—Austin, Brooklyn, Olivia, Andrew, Nico, Roman, Clayton, and Vincent—were truly the light of her life. Nothing brought her greater happiness than being with them, celebrating their accomplishments, and simply enjoying the moments they shared together.

Margaret spent 25 years working in security investigations at Nashville Electric Service (NES) before retiring in 2012. Prior to NES, she served as a police officer with the Metro Nashville Police Department for over 6 years and was, by the way, an excellent shot. Retirement gave her more time for the things she enjoyed most—traveling, being with friends, and, most importantly, spending time with her family.

Margaret's life was defined by the relationships she cherished and the love she had for the people around her. She found happiness in being together, whether traveling somewhere new, gathering with friends, or simply having a wildly competitive game night with her family.

Those who loved Margaret will remember her not only for the life she lived, but for the place she held in their lives—as a wife, a mother, a sister, a friend, and their beloved Nana. She leaves behind a family shaped by her love and a lifetime of memories that will be treasured for generations.

She will be deeply missed and forever loved.

Visitation will be at Alexander Funeral Home & Cremation Center Sunday September 20 from 2-5 pm, and Monday September 21 from 10 am until time of service at 11 am.
