Nell Neidert Byrd, age 86 of Gallatin, passed away October 9, 2017 at Alive Hospice in Nashville.

Funeral Mass will be 11:00 A.M., October 13, 2017 from St. John Vianney Catholic Church with Father Stephen Gideon as Celebrant. Interment will follow in Sumner Memorial Gardens with Jim Butrum, Jesse Butrum, Brandon Byrd, Sam Clanton and Mike Bohleber serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer will be Dillon Byrd. Visitation with the family will be on Thursday, October 12,

Interment will follow in Sumner Memorial Gardens with Jim Butrum, Jesse Butrum, Brandon Byrd, Sam Clanton and Mike Bohleber serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer will be Dillon Byrd.

Visitation with the family will be on Thursday, October 12, 2017 from 4-7 P.M. at Alexander Funeral Home & Cremation Center with a rosary to follow at 7:00 P.M. Mrs. Byrd was born on April 6, 1931 in Nashville to the late Laurence and Gertrude Neidert.

She was a 1949 graduate of Cathedral High School and a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Byrd and brother, Jerry Neidert. She is survived by her children, Martin Byrd (Rita) of Oklahoma City, OK and Ellen Butrum (Jim) of Nashville; grandchildren, Jesse Butrum (Leigh Anne), Devon Butrum, Brandon Byrd and Dillon Byrd (Ashlee); and brother, Robert "Bob" (Glickse). Memorial donations may be made to Alive Hospice or American Cancer Society. Online condolences may be made at alexandergallatin.com.
