Patricia Kay Krimmel

May 7, 1948 — March 28, 2024

Gallatin, TN

Patricia Kay Krimmel, age 75, of Gallatin, Tennessee fought valiantly against leukemia but finally rested on March 28th, 2024. She was surrounded by people she loves.

She was born in 1948 on May 7th – a birthday she proudly shared with her first granddaughter Emily – in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She is preceded in death by her father Charles W. Shoemake, mother Ethelyn (Daniel) Shoemake, and only earlier this month by her sister, Shirley Shoemake. Patricia is survived by her loving husband Jack Krimmel, her son John (wife Michelle) Krimmel, and her daughter Jaclyn (husband Bradley) Jones. She is also survived by her grandchildren Jack Krimmel, Emily Krimmel and Gracelyn Jones, as well as her goddaughter Molly Krimmel. She leaves behind other extended but close family and many friends.

Patricia prioritized her faith and her family. She was a Godly wife and mother who met her husband Jack in 1969 when she was a student at Kansas State University. They lived together in Manhattan, KS; Battle Creek, MI; Rochester, NY; Germantown TN; and Gallatin TN. This August 23rd would have been their 55th wedding anniversary. She was a true friend and partner to Jack, who already misses her dearly.

She raised her two children as believers and set a Christian example. She was the matriarch of her close and extended family, who organized family gatherings and kept everyone in touch. She went “all out” for the holidays – especially Christmas and Easter – which always were celebrated with family. Her three grandchildren were truly the light of her life. We have no doubt that it was because of her family that she bravely chose to fight her disease against all odds.

Patricia brought warmth and joy to those who knew her. She looked at the bright side of things and nearly always wore a smile. Always putting others before herself, she embodied selflessness. She was generous even to strangers. She genuinely cared about other people and had a way of making others feel special. She maintains many close friends from Germantown and Gallatin

Patricia enjoyed traveling with family, social occasions and playing games. She played hand and foot with her adult children, bunko and mahjong with her friends, and challenged her younger grandchildren to beat the “Oklahoma Champion” in simpler games.
