Peggy Poland

September 2, 1942 — December 30, 2023

Cottontown

Peggy Ann Poland (81) of Cottontown, TN, left her earthly home after fighting a long
battle with dementia on December 30, 2023.
Peggy came shining into the world on September 2, 1942 to Kendall and Madelyn
Reinhardt in Memphis, TN. She enjoyed most of her youth growing up in Little Rock,
AR along with trips to visit her beloved MiMi in Memphis. Peggy loved her family
and spoke so many wonderful stories of their times together. Peggy was also a proud
veteran of the US Army (an official WAC), from 1961 - 1964, where she met her
beloved husband Gene Poland. Peggy wore her veteran title with utmost esteem and
regarded the time as some of the best years of her life! After a short period in AR,
Peggy settled in Hendersonville, TN with Gene and her son, Chris; then, at 43 years
young, came what she calls, “the biggest surprise”, a daughter, Stephanie. To say mom
loved her kids would not be saying enough! Peggy loved all children, she loved her
time with Kindercare being around kids as well as her beloved Mcdonalds, oh how
she LOVED working at Mcdonalds, so many lives she touched all through her bright
& quirky personality. She spent her later years living in Cottontown, Tn where many
much loved memories are held, that and lots of animals, oh how she loved animals.
Her son and daughter both reside in Cottontown today. Peggy spent the last couple of
years living her best life at Front Porch Senior Living in Portland, Tn where she
brought smiles, laughter, and even a little agitation, haha, to so many. Her time with
her extended FP family is one her own family could only dream of for her. She got
taken to the beach, in a hot air balloon, to all the Portland festivals, and countless days
of fun adventures she had with her FP family. Peggy passed to the other side at FP
surrounded by her loved ones. (Thank you to all at Front Porch for loving her like you did). Above all
Peggy was a devoted follower of God, the light she shined will live on forever!
Peggy was predeceased by her husband, Gene Poland; sister, Joanna Goodman, and
mother/father, Kendall & Kathryn (Madalyn) Reinhardt. She is survived, and now
missed, by her son Chris Poland and his wife (Alisa), her daughter Stephanie Renee
and her partner (Justin), her brother Ken Reinhardt and his wife (Judy), her brother
Garry Reinhardt and his wife (Melanie), and all of the fur-babies she has ever loved.
A celebration of life will be held in her honor on Sunday Jan 14th from 2-5pm at the
clubhouse of Tanasi Shores in Gallatin, TN where you can come any time during, stay
however long you like, and enjoy the memory of Peggy.
In lieu of flowers, her family requests donations be made in her memory to Sumner
Spay and Neuter Alliance (www.sumnerspayneuteralliance.org), a local non-profit
organization that supports our community by providing high quality, low cost
spay/neuter services to its residents, a cause mom strongly supported as well as her
family.
As Peggy would say, “fiddle sticks” “dont do that” and “got any candy”
- We Love You, be the light of the world!
