Sandra Lou Johnson Jacobs

October 8, 1940 — August 23, 2025

Gallatin

On Saturday morning, August 23rd, 2025 just past the stroke of midnight, The Good Lord came down to earth and pinned a set of wings on our Mama, Sandra Lou Johnson Jacobs, so she could fly off into eternal life. Born October 8, 1940, in San Antonio, Texas, she was the daughter of the late William Earl Creel and Lola Mae Holcomb Creel.

Our Mama had been our angel on earth for nearly 85 years, and as sad and devastated as we are, we know she’s truly pain free and at peace now. We will miss everything about her from morning coffee on the back porch, to our casino trips, to taking her to the senior center to visit her friends and play bingo. We’re sad and weepy most of the time, but then we visualize her decked out in her designer wardrobe dancing to the moonlight in her bright orange shoes. I’ll bet the Almighty himself is impressed with the cheerfulness and flamboyance she brings to the party above the clouds. Sandra Lou Jacobs ‘aka’ Mama, We love you so much and you are already so missed, but just remember this… Goodbyes are not forever; goodbyes are not the end; it simply means we’ll miss you until we meet again.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Mark Pedicone; grandchildren David Dunton and Nicholas Dunton; and sister Jane Ann Lemmon.

Sandra was a beloved wife to Harold Jacobs, with whom she shared countless cherished moments. Together, they forged a partnership built on mutual respect and unconditional support, illuminating the lives of their family with their love. Sandra was also a devoted mother, lovingly raising her children—Jeanene (Jeff) Parker, Annette Dunton, Anthony (Debbie) Acosta, and Jody (Rick) Rodriguez. She is survived by 11 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

In addition to her immediate family, Sandra is survived by her sisters, Anita King, Mary Katherine Zeigler, and Sherri (Larry) Felix, who often recount the laughter, the stories, and the bonds they shared growing up. The warmth of her nature and her compassion left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Sandra's life was a testament to her values of family, integrity, and kindness. As we remember her spirit, we celebrate her legacy that will continue to inspire those she leaves behind. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all who loved her and were fortunate enough to share in her journey.

A Memorial Service is being planned to take place at a later date.  Once determined, the date/time/location will be updated to this obituary.

Final arrangements have been entrusted to Alexander Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Gallatin.
