James Miles

James Melvin Miles, age 74, of Gallatin, TN passed away in his home on April 1st, 2023. James Miles was born on July 23rd, 1948, in Nashville, Tennessee.  He is preceded in death by his parents James Melvin and Helen Gertrude Miles, and his children Cory Miles and Angela Nevill. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Miles; children, Eric (Jennifer) Anderson, Derrick (Dee) Anderson, Nikki Anderson; and their bonus son Jason (Becky) Nevill. He is also survived by his ten grandchildren; Cody, Tyler, Steven, Megan, Mariah, Allana, Codie, Emma, Kyndale, and Wyatt; as well as nine great grandchildren, Alleena, Callie, Elliott, Conner, Hunter, Carson, Kayden, Amelia, and Hayden.

James Miles was a devout Christian and was a member of Three Oaks Church. A fun loving man, who had a heart of gold. A gentleman who loved his family and the joy they brought into his life, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed playing lazer with this favorite dog, Chanz. He liked nature and appreciated being out on the water, whether he was out fishing or on a cruise. With his love for the outdoors came his passion for motorcycles. He loved to be out going for rides when he could. A veteran of the Unites States army, he served in the Vietnam War.  After the war, he worked in industrial maintenance within the manufacturing industry.  When he wasn’t working, he liked to play games, like chess and “Chicken Feet”, a dominoes game. He also enjoyed golfing when he could. Mr. Miles will be greatly missed by his family and friends, although he is gone he is not forgotten.

A visitation will be held at Alexander Funeral Home and Cremation Center on April 4th, 2023, from 5pm until 8pm. Then on April 5th, 2023, a visitation will be held from 10am until 12p, with the funeral service starting at 12pm, with Pastors George Austin and Clay Baggett officiating the service.

Pall bearers are to include Eric Anderson, Derrick Anderson, Steven McCord, Jason Nevill, Tyler Anderson, Cody Anderson, Wyatt Shadowens, and Codie Nevill.

Honorary pallbearers are his friends with whom he played pool.

In lieu of flowers, the family please requests that donations be made to St. Jude.
