Larry Minor Garrett, age 77 of Gallatin, TN, passed away Sunday, January 16, 2022.  Larry was born on September 18, 1944, in Oak Grove, TN to the late William & Estelle Garrett.  He is survived by loving wife of 58 years, Faye Giddings Garrett; daughter, Angie Garrett Alexander (Donald); son, Brandon Garrett (April); grandchildren, Lanette Alexander, Garrett Alexander (Danielle), Jacob Alexander, Rose Garrett and Luella Garrett; and 3 great grandchildren, Keegan, Troy, and Kinsley Woods.

Larry repented to the Lord unto salvation during a revival service at Sulphur Fork Missionary Baptist Church in June 1957.  Larry was the co-owner of the GM Dealership, Garrett & Mandrell, Inc., in Scottsville, Ky for 32 years. Before then, he worked as sales manager of Moore-Shaw Motor Co. and was salesman at Charles C. Parks, Co.  Larry was a Charter Member of the Gallatin Sertoma Club, where he served as President and was recognized as “Sertoman of the Year” during his membership.  He was a member of the Civil Defense Association, Deacon at West End Missionary Baptist Church and honored to be a member of Fairfield Masonic Lodge #553, 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason and was recently recognized for 50 years as a Mason.

Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Sunday, January 23rd from the chapel of Alexander Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Elder Jerry Boze and Elder Kenneth Massey officiating.  Committal Service will be 2:45 p.m. Sulphur Fork Missionary Baptist Church.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Sonny Garrott, Donald Alexander, Mark Clark, Jacob Alexander, Cread Clifton, Garrett Alexander, and Eddie Swan serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Garrott, Terry Crockett, Johnny Griffin, Roger Minor, John Minor, Johnny Wilson, Carsey Martin, Sonny Meiggs, Randy Hampton and Danny Greer.  Visitation will be Saturday, January 22nd from 12:00-5:00 p.m. and Sunday, January 23rd from 12:00 noon until time of service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be submitted to Sulphur Fork Cemetery Foundation, c/o Paulette Whaley, 2501 Hwy. 52 E., Portland, TN  37148.
