Millard Carroll

November 17, 1945 — November 3, 2022

Millard Joe Carroll, a loving husband, father, papaw, brother, uncle & friend, passed away while surrounded by family on Thursday, November 3rd, 2022.

Joe was born to Norman and Arvilla Carroll in McCarr, KY on November 17th, 1945. He was next to youngest of 16 children. Being a part of such a large family meant there was never a dull moment. From a very young age, the importance of hard work was instilled in the Carroll Family. Joe carried this with him throughout his life.

In 1974, Joe enlisted in the army where he proudly served his country. He worked hard and became a Staff Sergeant, expert Rifleman, and a paratrooper. Joe completed 15 years of service to the United States Army.

After this service, Joe dedicated his life to his family. Most of his career was spent driving semi-trucks. After decades of hard work, Joe retired from the United States Postal Service, where he had served for 11 years.

Joe enjoyed working on cars, carpentry, and serving behind the scenes at his home church, but he was always the happiest when he was with his family. His love and legacy will forever be with all those who knew him.

Joe is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Yvonne; his children, Robert & Mary Lou Carroll, Randy & Connie Carroll, Ambra & Sean Murray, Krista Carroll, Laura Carroll, Jeni & Michael Firestone, and Daniel Carroll; his 15 grandchildren; his siblings Marie Lindemuth & Terry Carroll; his dog Myah; and many other “adopted” children.

Please join the family for a graveside service on Saturday, November 12th @ 11:00 am at Crestview Memorial Gardens located at 1623 Hwy 109 N, Gallatin TN 37066.

A Celebration of Life service will immediately follow at United Church located at 1256 Clear Lake Meadows Blvd, Gallatin, TN 37066. All are welcome to come and share loving memories and celebrate Joe’s life with his family until 2:00 pm.
